Instead of demanding that the team work more hours, I’ve learned that for long-term success, what’s needed is a definition of what accountability means to the team.
I’d like to see the rise of the empowered product team, with a focus on strengthening the team's abilities to define problems and understand what customers need, with increased collaboration and partnership with all stakeholders.
Agile software development is often criticized for not delivering on the promise to transform teams into empowered, high-performance powerhouses. I suggest that the issue is not Agile or, more likely, Scrum that's the root cause of this failure but instead how they're being implemented.
